Overview
The goal of this project was to create a 30-second social media video advertisement for a product of my choice (Birkenstock). The audience of environmentalists was assigned for which I had to target and develop the visual style for. The ad needed to have a single powerful message with the goal of making the audience buy the product or click to learn more. The advertisement was required to have sound but also be able to be played on mute. Storyboards and a style frame were created for this advertisement.

Solution
To appeal to an environmentalist audience, this social media ad highlights how Birkenstock uses sustainable practices in the construction of its shoes. Specific renewable and natural materials are mentioned by name (cork, latex, jute) while the photos of the material in their natural forms are displayed. Photo montages of Birkenstock products in natural settings are also showcased throughout the ad. All images shown tie back to the goal of influencing environment-conscious consumers to learn more about this product. It ends with the call to action: “We only have one Earth. Take care of it with Birkenstock.” The Birkenstock website is also shown last to encourage the viewer to explore further.
